FEDERAL HILL PIZZA
Federal Hill Pizza was started in 2005 by William Manzo, Jr. out of the back of his cigar lounge on Federal Hill in Providence, Rhode Island. Prior to opening their first full service restaurant in Warren, RI Chef Billy and his wife Christine launched a wholesale company selling pizza dough and pizza shells throughout Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and Connecticut. Products were featured in 200 locations, which was grown from zero in under three years.
Opening in March 2010 our full-service restaurant in Warren, Rhode Island showcases Chef Billy’s unique style of Neapolitan brick oven pizza and myriad of other menu items from salads to burgers in a family friendly setting. With the purchase of the iconic Castle Theater on Chalkstone Avenue in 2015 we aim to bring the quality and tradition of our Warren location to the neighborhood where Billy grew up, where his parent’s still live and where he currently resides with his wife and daughter.
A neighborhood steep in traditions in a building full of memories for many who still live in the neighborhood. The Federal Hill Pizza brand conveys feelings of tradition, nostalgia, and simplicity, bringing classic Neapolitan fare to its customers.
Federal Hill Pizza also boasts eighteen rotating craft beers on draft in the Warren location and twenty four in Providence.
A native of Providence, RI. Chef Billy Manzo grew up in the kitchens of his Italian and Armenian family. There, as a child, he was absorbing the sights, sounds and most importantly smells of traditional Italian and Armenian cooking. Passed down through the generations he brings that energy and the joy of food into today’s fast paced world. For Chef Billy Food = Happy.
Billy’s cooking has taken him across the globe. His time in Las Vegas, Kennebunkport and Italy have served to sharpen his cuisine. Now Billy is back home in Providence where it all started. He’s come full circle where he stands in the shadows of his Aunt Marie’s kitchen. There everything was food. Now he’s in his kitchen cooking for you. Chef Manzo’s cooking has been featured on the Phantom Gourmet. He competes not only as an individual but also as a member of The World Pizza Champions in various pizza competitions around the globe. He has also been featured on the Food Network and is only 1 of 2 certified Master pizzaioli in the United States. Throughout his success as a chef Billy’s biggest accomplishment is being a dad to his daughter Ani. She is there now, in his kitchen absorbing this history of great Italian and Armenian cooking.
